BUYING
Found a property you love ?
Let's make sure you know what you're signing
Buying a property is exciting, but there can be a lot to consider before you sign a Contract.
We’ll review the Contract, explain anything you need to know in plain English and guide you through the process from your first Contract review right through to settlement.
Whether you’re buying your first home, your next home or an investment property, we’re here to make the legal side of buying property feel straightforward and manageable.
Before you sign
Found the one? Before you sign, send us the Contract.
A Contract for Sale contains important information about the property you're buying, as well as the terms and conditions that will apply to your purchase.
We'll review the Contract, explain the important parts in plain English and identify anything we think you should know or consider before you commit to the purchase.
Depending on the property, we may also recommend further enquiries or reports, such as pest and building inspections, a survey or other property-specific searches.
If you're buying at auction, it's particularly important to have the Contract reviewed beforehand, as there is no cooling-off period if you're the successful bidder.
Our aim is simple — to make sure you understand what you're signing so you can make an informed decision before you proceed.
Clear, straight forward pricing
Not sure whether you're ready to proceed? Send us the Contract and we'll take a quick look at it at no cost.
Our initial check is designed to identify any obvious issues that may need your attention and help you decide on your next steps.
If you're ready to seriously consider the property, we'll then complete a comprehensive Contract review before you sign, taking you through the Contract, the property and any terms or conditions you need to know about.
Proceed with the purchase and there's nothing to pay us until settlement.
If we complete the comprehensive Contract review and you decide not to proceed with the property, a Contract review fee will apply for the work completed.
Things to Consider Before you Buy
Every property is different, and the Contract doesn't always tell the whole story. Depending on the property you're buying, there may be a few things worth investigating before you commit.
This could include finance approval, pest and building inspections, a survey, strata records, easements or restrictions, council matters, title insurance or other property-specific enquiries.
We'll talk you through what may be relevant to your property, what each enquiry is designed to uncover and when it should be done, so you can decide what investigations you'd like to carry out before proceeding.
Not sure what you need? That's okay — we'll guide you through it.
Buying at Auction
Buying at auction works a little differently to a private treaty purchase, so it’s important to be prepared before auction day.
If you’re the successful bidder, you’ll generally be required to sign the Contract and pay the deposit straight away, and there is no cooling-off period.
Before you bid, send us the Contract. We can complete a comprehensive review, explain the terms and raise any Contract changes that should be dealt with before the auction.
You should also have your finance and any inspections or other enquiries you want to rely on sorted before you bid.
Thinking of bidding at auction? Send us the Contract early so you know exactly what you’re bidding on.

Ready to Make Your Move ?
Whether you’ve just started house hunting or you’ve already found the property you want to buy, we’re here to help make the next steps clear.
Send us the Contract and we’ll take an initial look at no cost. If you’re ready to take things further, we’ll guide you through the comprehensive Contract review, exchange and settlement — explaining things in plain English along the way.
